Aiming for Sustainable Legal Education in Sierra Leone

In a recent conference in London, Chernor M. B Jalloh, LLM, Barrister and Solicitor, the Head of UNIMAK‘s Law Department, presented a paper outlining the background to the establishment of his department, current successful developments and the challenges it now faces.

He clearly described how Sierra Leone needs more Lawyers, particularly Lawyers with an understanding and appreciation of the socio cultural context of Sierra Leone within which to support the rule of law and democracy. UNIMAK will play a crucial rule to achieve by offering sustainable and accessible legal education.
