On Saturday, 1st March 2025, Dr. Patricia Abdulai provided the opportunity to take the MA Sustainable Development students (Environmental Concentration) on a field trip at Marampa Mines Lunsar. It’s a way to let them experience real-life issues of environmental problems caused by human activities by incorporating three pillars of sustainable development into their assessment (the environmental, social, and economic pillars). It was an interesting presentation from the environmental department at the mines to the fieldwork with the students. Interestingly, they are not only mining but also practicing waste management, recycling, and farm practices for both cultivation and animal husbandry. Translating their theory into practice has been an amazing experience for the students.
