Regional Bishops Converge in Makeni to Champion Unity and Moral Renewal

The Inter-territorial Catholic Bishops’ Conference (ITCABIC) has officially convened at the Bishop’s House in Makeni City, bringing together spiritual leaders from Sierra Leone, Liberia, and The Gambia for a high-level summit running from January 19 to 24, 2026. Under the guidance of the host, Bishop Bob John Hassan Koroma, the assembly is focused on a mission to transform the faithful from “pilgrims of hope” into “active architects” of a more just society by addressing pressing regional challenges such as socioeconomic hardship and tribalism. As the bishops evaluate their collective vision for the coming years, the conference emphasizes the Church’s role as a unifying force for moral renewal and social cohesion across West Africa.
