UNIMAK Begins Second Semester with Traditional Mass at Yoni Chapel

University of Makeni officially commenced its second semester on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, with a traditional Mass held at the Yoni Campus Chapel, a spiritual custom observed since the institution’s founding in 2005.

The Mass was celebrated by the University Chaplain and attended by Vice Chancellor Professor Joseph Turay, alongside members of the clergy, staff, and students from various departments. The gathering served as an opportunity for the university community to seek spiritual guidance and blessings for the semester ahead.

Highlighting the institution’s Catholic identity, Professor Turay emphasized that the university places great importance on seeking divine protection and direction at the beginning of every academic semester to promote unity, success, and academic excellence.
