The University of Makeni was proudly represented at the planning meeting for the upcoming PAMOJA summit in 2026, held in Kigali. PAMOJA, meaning “Together” in Kiswahili, creates a vibrant cross-disciplinary platform for the University of Notre Dame to enhance its collaboration with the African continent. The university’s delegation, comprised of Director of Human Resources Madam Veronica Kamara and Director of International Relations and Projects Mercy Mwaura, emphasized the importance of collaborative research, innovative teaching, and impactful policy outreach. With 22 African partners currently involved, this summit presents an exciting opportunity for faculty and departments to engage deeply in these initiatives. Faculty teaching, research, and community engagement committees are encouraged to transition from reflection on their recent retreat to actionable steps.
