Hundreds of Catholic faithful from across Makeni gathered on Saturday, March 21, for a solemn Lenten pilgrimage that transformed the city’s main streets into a vibrant expression of prayer and penance. Led by the Vicar General, Rev. Fr. Dominic Johnson, the pilgrimage concluded with a Pontifical Mass celebrated by Bishop Dr. Bob John H. Koroma at the Bishop’s Garden.
The event featured the Stations of the Cross, communal Rosary recitations, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In a moving homily centered on the Parable of the Prodigal Son, Bishop Bob John Hassan Koroma encouraged the faithful to embrace God’s unconditional mercy and seek genuine reconciliation with one another as they prepare for the upcoming Holy Week.
