The University of Makeni and the University of Groningen Today, Concluded a Successful Qualitative Research Methods Training

The University of Makeni and the University of Groningen successfully concluded a ten-day intensive training course on qualitative research methods for postgraduate students, including young faculty members of UniMak. The training was held at the Fatima campus of the University of Makeni from January 13th to 23rd, 2025. The course aimed to equip students and faculty with a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of qualitative and ethnographic research.

The training program addressed key challenges faced by researchers, including methodological and ethical considerations.

Through a combination of theoretical lectures and practical, skills-based exercises, students gained valuable hands-on experience and developed critical thinking skills to navigate research complexities.

A diverse faculty, comprising experienced researchers from both universities, facilitated the course.
