UNIMAK and Ministry of Agriculture Partner for Landmark Livestock Project

​In a historic move for the nation’s agricultural sector, the University of Makeni (UNIMAK) Faculty of Agriculture and Food Science hosted a high-level familiarization meeting today with representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI) to discuss the country’s first-ever dedicated livestock implementation project. During the session, which included the Director of Livestock and key researchers, the UNIMAK team officially pledged their full technical readiness and institutional support to ensure the project’s success. This collaborative effort marks a significant milestone in diversifying the local food system, as all parties committed to a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing livestock production and sustainability across the country.
