The UNIMAK annual retreat took place on October 17-18, 2025, marking the beginning of a new academic year and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year’s retreat, attended by both academic and administrative staff, centered on the theme of integrating SDGs into all aspects of the university’s operations. Vice Chancellor Professor Joseph Turay opened the event with a compelling address, urging faculty and staff to elevate their professionalism in teaching, research, and community engagement as they strive to align their efforts with global sustainability goals.
