University of Makeni Collaboration Praised by Italian Biomedical Expert Makeni, Sierra Leone – October 13th – The University of Makeni (UniMak) marked a significant step in its international partnership efforts today with the visit of Professor Stefano Severi, an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy. Professor Severi is on an official engagement, acting as a partner between the University of Bologna and CUAAM (a partnering organization) to assist UniMak in developing its academic offerings. His primary focus is on collaborating with the Faculty of Pure Science and the Public Health Department to enhance their curricula. Upon completing his initial assessment, Professor Severi shared his “impressive opinion,” stating that UniMak possesses a “dynamic and dedicated academic core” and is “perfectly positioned to become a regional leader in applied science and health education, given the clear enthusiasm and commitment of its faculty to modernize their programs to meet contemporary national needs.” The collaboration is expected to leverage the University of Bologna’s expertise in technical and biomedical fields to foster rigorous, relevant, and globally competitive educational standards at UniMak.
